Abstract

Toxicities caused by pesticides constitute the majority of veterinary medicine clinical emergencies. Due to their frequence, a review of the literature on pesticides toxicology is presented. Toxicities in dogs and cats in Brazil are caused mainly by organochlorine, organophosphorous, carbamates and pyrethroids, products often used in intentional or accidental poisoning of domestic animals.
