Abstract

Objective. The objective of this study was to analyze if when veterinarians write articles about education in the Revista do Conselho Federal de Medicina Veterinária, they are aware of values in education, and which values they consider to be important for veterinary education. Material and Method. Articles published between 2006 and 2009 were analyzed. The number of articles on technical issues and the number of articles on veterinary education were both counted. Articles on education were further analyzed to discover which values were discussed in the text. Results. From a total of 66 articles, 57 were about technical issues and nine were about veterinary education. From the nine articles on education, six dealt with values in some way. Conclusions. The analysis of 11 issues of the Revista do CFMV showed that there is little space for the discussion of veterinary education and values. The importance of changing this scenario is discussed as well as some ways to do that.
